Bios and listening homework to read and hear at your leisure Singer-songwriter Maggie Alley grew up in the city, moving to the country in her teens. She took the formative energy of the sprawling, heated suburban cauldron that is Melbourne to quieter, darker, greener places, and used the space and time to develop a song-writing talent that saw ABC Radio compare her to “a young Patti Smith” at just 20. Her song-stories come from the flawed feminine, her narrative lyrics drawn from experience in the world, absorbed consciously and unconsciously. Alley's two digital EPs (Beasts, and Live at the Brunswick Ballroom) have gained strong community radio and ABC airplay, with devastating vocal performances described as "banshee like". She’s currently working on her debut album, with contributions from Aria winner Matt Walker, Fenn Wilson, and George Wilson (Pollyman). Drawing inspiration from influences as diverse as Kate Bush, David Bowie, Amy Winehouse, Townes Van Zandt and The Triffids. Her music is infused with something felt, not just heard. Tim Gambles is a UK based multi instrumentalist. Originally from the island of Tasmania, Tim has been involved in music for over a decade. His influences include Muse, Matt Corby, INXS and Harry Styles and this is shown in both his sound and stage presence. Tim's music is a wild and whimsical masterpiece, showcasing his intricate musical genius. But don't be fooled, he's still got that classic charm and objectivity that makes his art accessible to everyone, no matter their taste. Tim is returning to his home country to tour outside of Tasmania for the first time since making the move to the UK. Performing regularly across the UK and Europe, Joe is rapidly building a reputation for his ability to connect with people through his honest, emotive lyrics and memorable melodies.
